Shipping & returns

What’s the return policy?

While I don’t “officially” accept returns or refunds at this point, I do my absolute best to make every transaction run smoothly. If you receive a ruined plant, or your package doesn’t arrive, please let me know and I’ll be happy to send you a replacement free of charge upon availability. Also happy to give refunds on individual circumstances, just let me know what happened :)

My order arrived damaged. What do I do?

I do my best to make sure every order is packed safely for their journey. Still, mail couriers can be unpredictable and there are a hundred ways live plants can be destroyed during transit. Live plants can not be insured with the courier. Let me know and include a picture (if possible) as soon as you receive your defective order, and I’ll take care of it. :)

My tree showed up looking like a dead stick. Is it dead?

Probably not! Trees shipped in fall, winter and early spring are usually dormant, and they can arrive looking like a small, lifeless stick. Plant it, give it one good watering, then leave it alone until you see new leaves in spring. Baobabs are wonderful teachers of patience. The tree care guide has the details.

How much is shipping and how fast is it?

Shipping is free in the US on orders over $35. Under that, you pay the actual USPS rate for your address, shown in the cart before you pay. Orders ship within 7 days. Trees always ship bare root, and during heat waves I may hold a tree until it’s safer to ship.

Do you ship internationally?

I ship to the US (including Hawaii, Alaska and the territories) and Canada. I don’t provide phytosanitary certificates. Seeds and bare-root trees to Canada usually arrive without trouble, but customs may inspect the package, and any import duties or fees are paid on delivery. I’m not responsible for customs-related delays. For anywhere else, message me and we’ll see what’s possible.

Can I cancel or change my order?

I don’t accept cancellations, but if there’s a problem with your order, message me as soon as you can and I’ll do my best to sort it out.
